Inspiration behind Enso Creations
At the center of Enso Creations are two Japanese concepts: Ensō and Wabi-sabi. Together, they shape not just how Maggie make things, but why she makes them.
Ensō (円相) is a hand-drawn circle created in a single brushstroke, often open or imperfect, capturing a moment of presence and intention. Like Maggie’s handmade pieces, each ensō is one-of-a-kind—a reminder that beauty lives in the now, not in perfection.
Wabi-sabi celebrates finding beauty in imperfection. It’s a quiet celebration of things that are handmade, weathered, or a little off-center- the gentle wobble of a hand-sewn seam or the curve of a fabric fold reflects care, time, and the human hand. Rather than striving for flawless, machine-made precision, Maggie embraces the quirks and character that emerge naturally through the creative process.
Each piece created by Maggie is unique- no two are identical, and that’s the beauty of it. The slight imperfections, the irregularities in stitching or design, are not mistakes, but marks of the creative journey. They are reminders that the process and natural flow of making are just as meaningful as the finished piece.
